Council-managed business space, Redcliffe Hive, hosted a Women’s Business Expo on July 17.

On the day, there were about 15 exhibitors from all kinds of businesses: the law, air conditioning, celebrations and funerals convenor, personal travel agent, success coaching, spiritual health, self-publishing, and more.

Many of the business women spoken to had a great day, making vital connections, attending the presentations when possible, and giving out some information to attendees.

Sue Lester, of Growing Content, did a presentation on “Stop Tripping over Head Trash on Your Path to Success”. I didn’t see this one, but Sue talks about how our inside images of ourselves can affect our lives.

Paula Burgess gave us her insights into “running your business around children”, with her experience in caring for a special needs child and juggling a growing coaching business simultaneously certainly inspiring to attendees. One of the participants was about to have a baby, so advice about managing priorities and giving yourself time will help her when bubs comes along and disrupts the business schedule!

The council plans to host a series of workshops to cover other areas of local business. Any business in the region can become a member at Redcliffe Hive for free and partake in monthly networking nights, get the newsletter, and attend free Tuesday lunchtime events.
